This morning at 08h43’49’’ (13h43’49’’ UTC+1), Eilean, superb ketch design by William Fife III and Robert Balderton Fife in 1936, crossed the finish line in front of the marina of Christophe Harbour and won the fifth place on real time of the Panerai Transat Classique 2019. Under the rising sun and 20 knots of wind, the last miles were sailed under mainsail with two reefs and a staysail, and offered a beautiful sight. In the marina, the yacht ambassador of Panerai received, like any other competitors, a warm welcome from all sailors, with many hands offering their help to pull on the mooring ropes, a sign of strong respect, conviviality and solidarity of sea people. In the afternoon, the race commitee annouce the finish on Lys, the yacht of Philippe Monnet with his highlanders crew.
